Real Life Auctions Going on This Month

August 18, 2011

We met a lot of auctioneers at the 62nd International Auctioneers Conference and Show last month interested in knowing how becoming trained as a certified machinery and equipment appraiser (CMEA) can help their business. We’ve discussed the benefits in the past, and decided to highlight some real world examples of auctions going on this month to show how CMEAs can get involved in the industry.

In Iowa, there’s going to be a farm equipment auction going on this weekend. Up for auction are livestock equipment, harvesting equipment, and tractors, among other things. Also going on this month is an auction in Simsbury, Connecticut where equipment and machinery owned by the town is being auctioned. Some of the items up for auction include construction equipment and several vehicles.

Auctioneers involved in auctions like this one can increase their profitability and reduce their liability by securing a CMEA designation. And if you’re already a CMEA, getting involved in the auction industry is an exciting way to grow your business.

If you’re an auctioneer interested in adding the CMEA designation to your name, contact us!
